A finely groomed dog is not only attractive, bur proper grooming is vital to the health and well-being of every animal. Hair Off the Dog at 22 Shawn Court in Riverview is, as the name suggests, a dog grooming establishment that caters to dogs of all breeds.

Specializing in large and giant breeds of dogs in particular, Hair Off the Dog provides basic grooming with washing, hair trimming, and nail clipping as the main components of its grooming services.

Hair Off the Dog is owned and operated by Tammy Cormier-Moore. A one-woman business venture, it caters to a regular clientele of almost 1000 dogs from Riverview and its environs as well as areas further afield from such locations as Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Founded in November of 2003, Hair Off the Dog is Tammy’s first venture into a business of own after she began grooming dogs in 2000.

A graduate of Brenda’s Dog Grooming Academy in Moncton, Tammy now looks after a select following of dogs which includes aggressive dogs with whom she can establish a workable rapport. “I work with many large breeds,: says Tammy, “including police dogs. I have carved my own niche in an expanding industry. It is a career choice that is very rewarding.”

A dog owner herself, Tammy has two standard poodles “who think they are human” and a greyhound which was recently acquired, with plans to add yet another greyhound to her happy household brood after Christmas. For Tammy, animals are a passion. It is one she has successfully translated into a career that brings benefits, not just to her but to the hundreds of dogs in her care.
